When the final whistle blows, the challenges often begin

In the words of Ged Robinson, Hurricane #156

“Embarking on a journey to the pinnacle of athletic achievement demands an immense investment of time, resources, and unwavering dedication. Yet, when the recognition fades, and the final whistle blows, many athletes find themselves without the support systems that guided them to the top. In this transition, some find their footing, while others struggle to navigate the uncertain paths that lie ahead”.

Standing by those who gave everything to the game

The Rugby Players’ Support Trust is a charitable trust established by the Hurricanes Alumni Foundation with a view to assisting current and past rugby players and their families when life takes an unexpected turn.

We offer financial and practical support to those rugby players who suffer genuine financial hardship or extraordinary circumstances, with priority, but not exclusivity, to those with a connection to the Hurricanes.

When injury, illness, or sudden change hits, we step in to help with medical costs, recovery equipment, or essential living expenses.

It’s about standing by the people who gave everything to the game — and making sure they’re never left to face tough times alone.
