We know it isn’t always easy to ask for help, especially for people who have spent their lives being strong for others. If you or your whānau have a connection to rugby and are facing injury, illness, or financial hardship, the trust is here for you.
Every situation is unique. Every application is treated with care, respect, and complete confidentiality.
You’re not alone in this.
No one in our wider rugby community should struggle alone.
We accept applications from:
Current or former rugby players
Their whānau
Anyone with a genuine connection to rugby who is experiencing hardship
Priority is given to those connected to the Hurricanes team or the wider Hurricanes community, but support is not limited to them.

You can apply for support with:
Medical treatments or recovery costs
Mobility or rehabilitation equipment
Essential living expenses such as rent or bills
Family support during loss or crisis
Other urgent needs caused by unexpected hardship

HOW TO APPLY
Asking for help shouldn’t feel overwhelming, and we make sure it doesn’t.
Applying is simple. There are no complicated steps or long forms.

Tell us briefly about your situation
Attach any relevant documents (if you have them)
Submit your application
A trustee will contact you as soon as possible to discuss next steps.
Your privacy matters
All information you share is kept private, secure, and confidential. We will never discuss your situation with anyone without your permission. A sub-committee of only three trustees will review each application, therefore guaranteeing your privacy.
